The Smart India Hackathon in Gautam Buddha University is a premier event that brings together students, developers, and innovators from across the country. This hackathon challenges participants to develop cutting-edge solutions to real-world problems, fostering collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills.


Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving. It has proved to be extremely successful in promoting out-of-the-box thinking in young minds.


The hackathon at Gautam Buddha University featured over 100 teams competing across various tracks including software development, hardware prototyping, and AI/ML solutions. The event was organized over 36 hours of non-stop hacking, with mentors from industry and academia providing guidance throughout.


Key highlights of the event included:

  • 1. Problem statements from various government ministries and private organizations
  • 2. Workshops on emerging technologies and entrepreneurship
  • 3. Networking sessions with industry professionals
  • 4. Prizes worth lakhs of rupees for winning teams

The event not only provided a platform for technical innovation but also emphasized the importance of addressing real-world challenges through technology. Many of the solutions developed during the hackathon have the potential to be implemented at scale, creating meaningful impact across various sectors.

The Hack & Chill Hackathon in New Delhi was a unique event that combined the intensity of competitive hacking with a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere. Held at a premier tech hub in the heart of the city, the event attracted over 300 participants from various backgrounds including students, professionals, and startup enthusiasts.


The hackathon focused on four key themes:

  • 1. Sustainable Urban Development
  • 2. Healthcare Innovation
  • 3. Financial Technology
  • 4. Education Technology

Teams had 24 hours to conceptualize, design, and develop their solutions. What made this hackathon special was its emphasis on both technical excellence and user experience. The event also featured workshops on emerging technologies, panel discussions with industry experts, and networking sessions. Participants had access to APIs and tools from sponsoring companies, allowing them to build more sophisticated solutions.


The winning projects included a smart waste management system for urban areas, an AI-powered health diagnostic tool, a blockchain-based microfinance platform, and an augmented reality application for interactive learning.
